BOOST High Protein Homemade Toaster Waffles

Pop these homemade waffles in the toaster on busy mornings. Boost® adds protein to help fight those mid-morning hunger pangs.

    Ingredients

    1 1/2 cup (375 ml) all-purpose flour
    1/2 cup (125 ml) whole-wheat flour
    1 tablespoon (15 ml) baking powder
    2 eggs
    1/4 teaspoon (2 ml) salt
    1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
    2 tablespoons (60 ml) melted butter
    2 tablespoons (60 ml) canola oil

    Instructions

    Heat waffle iron according to manufacturer’s directions.

    Combine all-purpose flour, whole-wheat flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

    Whisk together BOOST® High Protein Vanilla, eggs, vanilla, melted butter and oil. Whisk into dry ingredients until smooth.

    Ladle about 3/4 cup (175 mL) into pre-heated waffle iron. Cook according to manufacturer’s directions until crisp, 2 to 3 minutes. Repeat with remaining batter. Cool on rack. Wrap individually in plastic wrap or foil and freeze.

    To heat, break in half and toast until heated through in toaster.

    Tips

    Lower Sugar Option

    For a lower sugar option, substitute with Boost Diabetic Vanilla (0.5g sugar vs 14g sugar in Boost High Protein”
